The Scorpion program has established a high preparedness standard for our coaches that has resulted in outstanding player and parent satisfaction over the past decade. As a club, we are dedicated to helping our coaches throughout the season. You will receive emails about this in the coming months. We are thankful to have you as a Scorpion!

Most of these are addressed with follow-up activities.

1) US Lacrosse registration (performed during coach registration)

 

2) Background check (a separate email will follow, or click here)

 

3) Positive Coaching Alliance certification

·Must be completed once in a lifetime.

·Offered as both an in-class and online certification course.

o   Online course takes approximately 30 minutes

o   In-class course will be announced at a later date.

·Ensures that our coaches know the techniques needed to provide our players with a positive, character-building youth sports experience.

 

4)  US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program (CEP) level 1 training

·Required once in a lifetime

·Offered as both an in-class and online certification course.

·Online course takes approximately 2-3 hours and can be done in one or more settings

5)  US Lacrosse Rules Test

·       Required every year

6)  Compete Concussion Awareness Course here

·       Required every year

7) Compete the Safe Sport Certification here

·       NEW- All coaches must compete

Our club is committed to you and your desire to learn the sport by providing additional in-person training opportunities throughout the year that will give you a greater understanding of the game and how to coach it.  These include:

 

1)      Monthly coach's meetings

·Monthly, 90-minute meetings occurring on the 1st Monday of each month

2)      CEP Level 1 Instructional Clinic (December 15)

·Provides the hands-on, in-person interaction based on the knowledge you receive from the course.

·Participation also makes you eligible to apply for Level 1 certification.

 

3)      CEP Level 2 Instructional Clinic (December 15)

·Provides the hands-on, in-person interaction based on the knowledge you receive from the course.

·Participation also makes you eligible to apply for Level 1 certification.

4)      Additional in-person training opportunities

·Through a partnership with local lacrosse experts, coaches will have an opportunity to learn the game from the best in the business.
